Thank you for checking in with me. Yes -- we received the Setar at 6pm on Christmas Eve!!!
Just in time! My husband loves it and has not put it down since it has arrived.

It is very beautiful !
He is learning how to tune and he plays by ear, so is picking out tunes. We will look into lessons after the New year!

Santoori's Customer feedback about Persian Setar no. 3

First, some words about the seller. I live in France, and the package was absolutely professional, arrived in a time of two weeks. Air-buble-protection in the hard-case, outside too.

I open the case, everything is alright. I look at the setar : he's beautiful. Well colored, harmony. I touched it. I feel surprise : i am not a very good player ; i almost begin ; but my low cost setar doesn't make it now. The sound is so much louder ! And so much clear ! I hear perfectly all the strings (yeah !).
I find the sound is round, with a full body, a little bit strong : definitely human. It's warm and soft in the same time, it's delicate, and it's burly when you attack it in a western way (with big movements with arm and hand like a guitar)
Oh, and the frets are good quality.

I don't know if it's a professional setar, i'm not good enough to say that ; but it definitely make it.

I am very happy with it : in fact, since i have it, i play it every day ! He became a friend ; my ex-low cost setar is trapped in his case. I need to say, that it cost only twice the price of my low cost (not bought here, bought in Belgia via another website)

I can say that i keep those setar for a moment ! (sorry about my bad english)
